Easter 2005
I spent two weeks in New York during the Easter Holidays, staying at the YMCA in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
All of the photos were taken with a 1960 Rolleiflex TLR.
Trip to Ellis Island
I took a ferry over to Ellis Island, which is just south of Manhattan Island.
From the late 19th, to the mid 20th century the island was the disembarkation point for a high proportion of immigrants to USA, arriving on the east coast. The main reception building has been retained and is now a museum, telling the story of immigration to USA.
